The iWISE Olympiad’s “Marketing” category is designed to cultivate the next generation of marketing professionals by fostering innovation, strategic thinking, and creative communication. Its core objective is to provide a platform where young participants can develop, test, and showcase their abilities in crafting compelling campaigns that engage target audiences and drive business growth.

Promote innovative and strategic thinking

– Develop market understanding: Participants must research, analyze, and demonstrate a deep understanding of their target audience’s preferences, interests, and behaviors.

– Cultivate strategic planning: Students will learn to craft a basic marketing plan that clearly defines goals, key messaging, and appropriate channels for execution.

– Adapt to evolving trends: The category challenges students to use and adapt to current and emerging trends, such as digital marketing and social media platforms.

Showcase creativity and communication skills

– Design compelling campaigns: Using formats like a portfolio or a short promotional video, participants will present their creative marketing ideas in a clear and visually appealing manner.

– Enhance communication: The competition evaluates participants’ ability to effectively convey their marketing messages, both in written and visual formats, appropriate for their target audience and age.

Build proficiency with digital tools

– Leverage digital marketing: For those choosing the video submission, the objective is to demonstrate proficiency in utilizing modern digital tools and channels, such as social media, content marketing, and video production, to increase brand visibility.

– Demonstrate creative branding: The portfolio option allows students to show their skills in creating and maintaining a unique brand identity across various design elements, from logos and digital posters to packaging and promotional merchandise.

Emphasize ethical considerations

– Foster responsible marketing: The competition encourages participants to consider the ethical implications of their campaigns, including aspects like honesty, transparency, and respect for their target audience.

Participants in the “Marketing” category have the option to submit their entries in two formats: a Portfolio or a Short Promotional Video.

Portfolio Submission:

Participants can choose to create and submit a portfolio that showcases their marketing work. The portfolio should include examples of their creative marketing projects, such as logo, business card, digital poster, stationery, label, letterhead, flyer, postcard, brochure, envelope, magazine, menu, newspaper ad, sticker, t-shirt, packaging, bag, mug, signage, billboard, and car wrap design. Participants should compile their best work and provide a brief description or explanation for each entry.

Short Promo Video Submission:

Alternatively, participants can create a short promotional video with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. In this video, participants can creatively present their marketing ideas, campaigns, or strategies. They can use visuals, animations, voiceovers, or any other audio-visual elements to effectively communicate their marketing concepts. The video should clearly demonstrate their creativity, strategic thinking, and presentation skills.

Participants in the “Marketing” category can submit either a portfolio or a 3-minute promotional video. The portfolio should feature their marketing work with brief descriptions, while the video should creatively present their ideas.
