The iWISE Spelling Bee category is a captivating competition that allows participants to showcase their exceptional spelling skills and linguistic abilities. In the Spelling Bee category, participants will be challenged with a series of words to spell correctly, putting their spelling accuracy, focus, quick thinking, and composure under pressure to the test. Join us in celebrating the power of words and the art of spelling in this engaging and educational category. Get ready to embark on an exciting journey of spelling mastery in the iWISE Spelling Bee!

To prepare for the Spelling Bee category, students are encouraged to read the prescribed book. The prescribed book will be a captivating and delightful story that will not only entertain participants but also help expand their vocabulary and improve their spelling abilities. Reading the prescribed book will expose students to a variety of words and help them learn spelling patterns useful for the competition.

Participants will tackle a total of 20 words, including 2 substitute words if needed. Accuracy is key, as correctly spelling each word on the first attempt is important for earning more points. Pay attention, as judges will only repeat each word twice throughout the competition. Be mindful of repetition, as it can lead to mark deductions. While participants can request the word to be used in a sentence for context, keep in mind that this may result in a slight point deduction. All words will randomly be drawn from 3-5 envelopes. Showcase your impressive spelling skills and embrace the excitement of the iWISE Spelling Bee category.

All students aged 10 – 24 years old are eligible to participate. Students who are younger than 10 years old and who older than 24 years old are not allowed to participate in the iWISE Olympiad – Spelling Bee Category.
