Plagiarism

• – All submitted projects must be original and created by the participant or participant’s team.

• – Plagiarism and unauthorized use of copyrighted material are not allowed.

• – Participants are strictly prohibited from plagiarizing another person’s artwork, project, or ideas.

• – Participants cannot exhibit artwork or projects created by someone else.

• – Buying artwork or projects from another person and exhibiting them as one’s own is strictly forbidden.

• – Any artwork or project found to be plagiarized will be immediately disqualified from the iWISE Olympiad.

• – Plagiarized submissions will not be eligible for any recognition or grand prizes.
• – By agreeing to the terms and conditions, participants automatically acknowledge and accept the Plagiarism Policy.

Ethics

• – Do original work — your project/artwork must be created by you or your team.

• – Respect copyright — unauthorized copyrighted material and brand names are prohibited in projects/exhibitions.

• – Be honest — cheating and deceitful behaviour are prohibited.

• – Treat others respectfully — harassment, abuse, threats, and physical or verbal harm are prohibited.

• – No photographs/visuals showing harm to humans or animals.

• – Do not bring or promote weapons, drugs, alcohol, or gambling.

• – By agreeing to the terms and conditions, participants automatically acknowledge and accept the Ethics Policy.

 

Liability and Damages to Property Policy

• – Participants are responsible for looking after their own belongings. If something is lost, stolen, or damaged, the organizing committee is not responsible for replacing it or paying for a new one.

• – If a participant damages someone else’s property during the iWISE Olympiad, the participant (or their responsible parent/guardian, where applicable) is responsible for paying for the damage.

• – If a participant damages anything belonging to the exhibition venue, the participant is responsible for paying for the damage.

• – If a participant damages anything at the accommodation where they are staying during the exhibition, the participant is responsible for paying for the damage.
• – By agreeing to the terms and conditions, participants automatically acknowledge and accept the Liability and Damages to Property Policy.

 

Other Policies 

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, participants automatically acknowledge and accept all other Policies.

• – Media Consent:

By taking part in iWISE, you give iWISE permission to use your name, photos/videos, and project information or materials in websites, social media, brochures, or other promotional materials to promote iWISE.

• – Anti-Bullying Policy:

Bullying is not allowed at the iWISE Olympiad. If a participant bullies another person, they may be immediately disqualified from the competition. They may also be removed from the shared accommodation and may not be allowed to stay with the other participants. The participant will also lose the right to request a refund.

• – Privacy and Data Protection:

Participant information will be collected and processed according to relevant privacy laws.

• – Disqualification:

If a participant does not follow the iWISE rules, breaks the code of conduct, or violates any of the competition requirements, they will be directly disqualified.

• – Health and Injury Policy 

• – Participants are responsible for their own health and safety. The iWISE terms state that finalists travelling to the Global Round are responsible for any injury to themselves, and iWISE says it bears no liability for such incidents. 
• – iWISE does not provide insurance for participants or their projects before, during, or after the exhibition. Participants must arrange their own travel insurance before travelling to the iWISE event.
• – Supervision is required for younger participants. Participants under 16 travelling to the physical Global Final must be supervised by an adult.

• – Changes and Modifications:

iWISE reserves the right to modify terms if needed for the event’s smooth operation.

• – Sexual Abuse 

No participant is allowed to sexually abuse, sexually harass, assault, or mistreat another person. Such behaviour is against the iWISE Code of Conduct and can lead to serious disciplinary consequences, including disqualification.

General Terms & Conditions

• – Participants, educators, organizations, schools, and parents may not challenge or appeal against any decision made by the iWISE Olympiad Committee regarding disqualified artwork or projects.

• – The iWISE Olympiad Code of Conduct applies to all participants in both the National, Regional and Global Rounds.

• – Finalists traveling to overseas to participate in the Global Round are solely responsible for their own conduct and behaviour during the event.

• – Finalists traveling to the Global Round are responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to themselves or their personal property. The iWISE Olympiad Organization bears no liability for such incidents.

• – Finalists who violate any iWISE Olympiad rules must accept any disciplinary actions or decisions taken by the Committee.

• – Finalists must retain a copy or evidence of the origin of their submitted work for verification purposes.

• – The iWISE Olympiad Committee reserves the right to use finalists’ names, photographs, statements, quotes, testimonials, and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes on social media, official websites, and related platforms, without prior notification or compensation.

• – The Committee retains the right to edit, trim, or modify any submitted videos for promotional use.

• – The Committee reserves the right to reprint, distribute, perform, display, or exhibit finalist submissions (videos, speeches, or written works) for advertising, publicity, or educational purposes on the iWISE Olympiad’s or its sister organizations’ websites, social media, conferences, or other venues.

• – Finalists agree to be bound by the official contest rules and the final decisions made by the judges.

• – Finalists may not contest or complain about the decisions of the iWISE Olympiad judges.

• – Late entries will not be accepted for evaluation or judgment.

• – Finalists must provide accurate personal details, including name, valid email address, and other requested information to complete the registration process.

• – Each finalist’s login credentials may only be used by one person. Login details must not be shared with any third party. – NOT APPLICABLE TO IWISE

• – Finalists are solely responsible for maintaining the security of their account and password. The iWISE Olympiad Organization will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from failure to comply with this obligation. –NOT APPLICABLE TO IWISE

• – Finalists are fully responsible for all content posted and activity occurring under their account.

• – The iWISE Olympiad Organization reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate a finalist’s account access at any time, temporarily or permanently.
• – Support for iWISE Olympiad services is provided only in English and exclusively via email.

 

Safety Regulations 

The following items and materials are strictly prohibited at the iWISE Exhibition:

• – Living organisms, including plants.

• – Glass, soil, rock, sand, or waste samples, even if sealed or encased in acrylic.

• – Taxidermy specimens or animal parts.

• – Preserved vertebrate or invertebrate animals.

• – Any type of food items, including animal feed.

• – Human or animal parts, including body fluids such as urine or blood.

• – Plant materials of any kind.

• – Chemicals or liquids of any type, no liquid substances are permitted in exhibits.

• – Hazardous substances, devices, or sharp objects such as poisons, drugs, weapons, knives, or syringes.

• – Open flames or highly flammable materials.

• – Batteries with open-top or wet cells.

• – Display elements that may cause distractions or safety concerns, including sounds, lights, Odors, lasers, or laser pointers.

• – Any apparatus, material, or display item deemed unsafe or inappropriate by the Display & Safety Committee or the iWISE Society.
• – By agreeing to the terms and conditions, participants automatically acknowledge and accept the Safety Regulations Policy.

 

Code of Conduct

As a finalist of the iWISE Olympiad, I hereby agree to the following:

I will adhere to the iWISE Olympiad Code of Conduct, as published on the official iWISE website.

I grant iWISE Olympiad the right to use my artwork/project and photographs of myself for publicity purposes, including on the iWISE website, journals, and social media platforms.

I will attend all judging sessions, the award ceremony, and any other official events. I understand that if I am not present, the iWISE Olympiad Committee reserves the right to withdraw my medals, special awards, or grand prizes.

I will not approach or question the judges regarding my artwork/project if I am absent from my exhibition stand during the judging process.

I accept the Chief Judge’s decision as the final and binding decision regarding my artwork/project.

I will not alter or modify any part of my submitted artwork/project after completing my online registration.

I accept that I and/or my parent(s)/guardian(s) shall be responsible for any expenses incurred by the organization because of my participation.

I will treat all individuals involved in the iWISE Olympiad, including participants, judges, organizers, and volunteers — with respect and professionalism.

I will not engage in any form of physical or verbal harm, including assault, sexual or physical abuse, harassment (verbal, written, or online), or mistreatment of others.

I will not consume, distribute, or promote the use of drugs or alcohol, nor influence others to do so.

I will always act with honesty and integrity and will not engage in cheating or deceitful behaviour.

I will not steal, vandalize, or damage the property of others or that of the iWISE Olympiad organization.

I will not engage in or promote illegal activities, including the purchase or sale of drugs or alcohol.

I will not possess or carry any firearms or weapons of any kind.

I will not participate in or encourage gambling in any form, nor pressure anyone to do so.

Refund Policy 

Registration Fees, Refunds, and Discounts Policy

• – Registration fees for the Online iWISE National and Regional Final are NON-REFUNDABLE.

• – Registration fees for the iWISE Virtual Finals are NON-REFUNDABLE.

• – Refunds for the iWISE Global Final Exhibitions are subject to management’s discretion, regardless of whether the grounds for such a refund are attributable to a force majeure event.

• – The cost of any additional nights stayed during any of our Global Final Exhibitions is NON-REFUNDABLE.

• – Participants who have received discounts are not permitted to transfer them and must utilise the discount within 30 days of the Virtual Final, National Final, or Regional Final date.
• – If a participant qualifies for multiple discounts, only the highest applicable discount will be applied. Discounts cannot be combined.

 

Cancellation Policy

“Cancellation” of a registration refers to the formal withdrawal or removal of a participant’s name from the official list or record of the iWISE Global Finals. This applies for any reason, including health issues, accidents, or personal circumstances, once visa support documents have been issued, regardless of whether the visa application has been submitted. The following section applies to individuals in any of the following registration categories: participants, supervising teachers, parent programme participants, and/or guests.

• – Individuals who cancel their registration more than 30 days before the event date will be responsible for a cancellation fee of £845, regardless of any discounts applied or the timing of the refund.

• – Individuals will NOT receive a refund if they cancel their registration less than 30 days before the event date without a valid reason.

• – No refunds will be given if the total refund amount is less than the £845 cancellation fee.

• – No refunds will be issued for registrations limited to the award ceremony or for combined award ceremony and trip packages.

• – No refunds will be issued for registrations limited to the competition-only package.

 

Visa Refusal Policy

• – If your visa is refused more than 90 days before the event, you are eligible for a 100% refund.

• – If your visa is refused within 90 days before the event, you are eligible for a 90% refund.

• – If your visa is refused within 60 days before the event, you are eligible for an 80% refund.

• – If your visa is refused within 30 days before the event, you are eligible for a 75% refund.

• – If your visa is refused less than 30 days before the event, you are eligible for a 70% refund.

• – No refunds will be issued for registrations limited to the award ceremony or for combined award ceremony and trip packages.
• – No refunds will be issued for registrations limited to the competition-only package.
